Before the approaching summer, the Secretariat is pleased to announce the following upcoming events to which members and partners of the network are invited to participate:

  • MED-Amin side event on 13 June in London, on the occasion of the International Grains Council (IGC) Annual Conference in London. During this side event of the IGC Conference (face-to-face only, with more than 250 participants expected), the MED-Amin Secretariat will present the main objectives and products of the network, in particular its pilot activities aimed at improving crop monitoring and early production forecasting, as well as the development of an early warning system in/for the Mediterranean region. Spain, which holds the presidency of the network in 2023, will illustrate these issues of particular importance to the country.

  • Webinar on Cereal Balance Sheets (6 July morning): As in 2021, MED-Amin is offering this webinar to learn about the methodologies and sources available for constructing cereal balance sheets, analysing markets and proposing projections for the coming years. This session is organised with the support and expertise of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and FranceAgriMer.
  • Webinar on early availability (supply) forecasts of the main exporters (6 July afternoon): As in previous years, MED-Amin and the IGC propose to the MED-Amin network to know early the volumes available from the main suppliers of wheat, barley and maize and to exchange with them. The objective is to contribute to the preparation and anticipation of supply strategies for the coming marketing year (2023/24).
